MTB Exams brings a flexible, modern approach to music education. With graded exams from Levels 1 to 8 and diploma qualifications across more than 30 instruments, students can take both performance and theory exams entirely online — learning, recording, and progressing at their own pace.
The syllabus, designed by leading educators, supports teachers while helping students build a strong musical foundation. By aligning with global standards and encouraging creativity, MTB enables every learner to grow confidently and earn meaningful international recognition for their achievements.
Led by singer-songwriter Bindu Subramaniam and violinist Ambi Subramaniam, SaPa – the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts – is on a mission to create a new generation of passionate musicians and make quality music education accessible to everyone.
Built on the vision of violin icon Padma Vibhushan Dr. L. Subramaniam and legendary playback singer Padma Shri Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, SaPa has been training students since 2008.
SaPa is a home for great music and musicians, with a multidisciplinary approach that encourages learners of all ages to explore new and exciting dimensions of music. Its curriculum, developed by Bindu and Ambi — both PhDs in music — includes over 20 textbooks, including India’s first violin series for children. Today, SaPa works with more than 40,000 students each year.
OFQUAL (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) is the UK government body that ensures all qualifications meet rigorous international standards of quality, fairness, and credibility.
An OFQUAL-regulated certification guarantees that students’ achievements are globally recognised and respected by educational institutions and employers alike.
For the first time, Carnatic musicians will have access to globally recognised, OFQUAL-accredited qualifications. This initiative places Carnatic music within an international framework, ensuring that students’ accomplishments are valued on par with those of any other global genre. It’s a proud step forward — celebrating Indian heritage while opening new doors for students around the world.
