- Disha, Std IV, GEAR International Innovative SchoolMy son’s favourite class is SaPa. He enjoys a lot, and follows each and everything said in class. It was so surprising that he recited the whole African song taught by SaPa along with its English translation!
- Saritha, Parent, Innisfree House SchoolMy daughter likes SaPa so much that she wants to sit with the book everyday once she comes home from school.
- Nithya Chari, Parent, National Public SchoolThese printables/activity sheets encourage screen-free learning time for children. They include making musical instruments, tracking their physical and emotional well-being, playing with colours, and more. Children learn to work independently on new tasks.
This visual learning tool includes singalong & listen-and-repeat videos. Students learn to sing in over 10 languages from around the world, develop a sense of rhythm, and explore melody more deeply.
Access our library of singalong tracks as well as background tracks that students can follow. These learning resources enable children to learn at their own pace and in their own time.
Music is a transformative tool that promotes inclusive learning & can bring about a positive change in society and people’s mindsets - every student must have access to and learn this powerful skill.
We encourage students to discover the best version of themselves as they embark on a unique learning journey. They learn to bond, grow, and share through cooperation & collaboration.
Music is a gateway to learn 21st century skills like creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration & Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) - self-awareness, social awareness, and empathy. SiS curriculum incorporates both.
We believe in multidisciplinarity as per the NEP with high synergy between music, mathematics, and science. Our lessons on understanding instruments, sound production, stage dynamics, and counting talas conform to STEAM education.

We're held up by a team of passionate, talented music educators. Here at SaPa, we believe in creating a fulfilling experience for both teachers and students. Here's how we make it happen:
Our educator training program is designed with the Norwegian Academy of Music, a prestigious conservatory in Norway. The program helps teachers deal with all kinds of classroom situations, and helps them deliver an impactful musical experience.
Our educators are also performers and they love what they do. When children learn from passionate educators, they won’t be able to stop their own budding and blossoming ideas!
SaPa’s curriculum is developed in-house, verified by global research, NEP-compliant, conforms to the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning; it covers all topics, Indian and global, as well as their overall impact on various social, historical and academic subjects.
The syllabus includes a combination of songs and musical activities that are designed to achieve different outcomes based on each age group. Children learn to sing in over 10 languages, as they are introduced to music and culture from six continents.
Educators are trained in partnership with the Norwegian Academy of Music, one of Europe’s most prestigious conservatories. Sessions are conducted every quarter and teachers are recertified at the beginning of every academic year.
Children get access to books co-authored by singer-songwriter Bindu Subramaniam and violinist Ambi Subramaniam. They also get audio and video learning material that they can access at any time in the year.
SaPa conducts both theory and practical examinations at the end of the year so students can gauge their progress. They also get a certificate at the end of the academic year.
In 2017, SaPa launched a pilot 10,000 Deeds campaign with UNICEF to encourage young students to take steps towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their families, schools, and communities. The campaign was kicked off by co-founders Bindu and Ambi Subramaniam with a music video by The Thayir Sadam Project. Schools across Bangalore adopted the program and this was a big success.
We are now joining hands with Model United Nations (MUN) Impact headquarters in New York, and building on the creative inspiration to expand the campaign to schools around the world - setting a goal of 100,000 deeds worldwide! This is now managed by students around the world, including student translators working to make this challenge accessible to all. All towards achieving the SDGs set by the United Nations in 2015.
SaPa, the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts, started in 2007, is the home for great music and musicians. Guided by the vision of our founders, legendary musicians Dr. L. Subramaniam and Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, and ably led by singer-songwriter Bindu Subramaniam and violinist Ambi Subramaniam, SaPa has a strong legacy of excellence in Carnatic and global music.
Here at SaPa, we believe in ‘learning through fun’. We have exciting, interactive elements in all our lessons, and ensure that students bring their musical vision to life while also having a great time.
The SaPa in Schools (SiS) initiative is our special endeavour to ensure that all children learn music and through it, develop life skills that will lead them towards a happier and more harmonious life.
