Dr L Subramaniam, India’s violin icon, is a musician, composer, and conductor, trained in classical Carnatic music and Western classical music. Creator of the global fusion concept, he founded the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival, the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts, and the Lakshminarayana Global Centre for Excellence. A medical doctor by training, he also has a Master’s Degree in Western Classical Composition from California and a PhD in Music. He has over a hundred awards and honours, including the coveted Padma Bhushan and his recent Padma Vibhushan award, one of India's highest civilian honors.
Kavita Krishnamurti Subramaniam, multi-platinum recording artist and Indian playback singer, has sung over 15,000 songs in all major Indian languages. She has received numerous awards from Filmfares to the Padma Shree. In addition to singing for films, she has sung with symphony orchestras, as part of Indian classical collaborations and even composed and sung her own albums. She was awarded a Doctorate (Honoris Causa) for her contributions to Indian music in 2015.
Bindu Subramaniam, is an entrepreneur, singer-songwriter, and educator. She is the, Co-Founder & CEO of SaPa, and the lead vocalist of SubraMania and Thayir Sadam Project. She has travelled the world performing solo, with her family, her bands, and with orchestras, for audiences of up to 500,000. She has co-authored over 20 textbooks on Indian music, and was among the first educators in the country to create a toddler-focused program for Indian music. She has eight degrees, delivered multiple TEDx talks, and writes for numerous publications.
Ambi Subramaniam, is a violinist, composer, educator, and Co-Founder and CCO of SaPa. He started learning the violin with his father and guru Dr. L. Subramaniam at the age of three and gave his first performance at the age of seven. He was named among GQ’s 25 Most Influential Young Indians and received the Ritz Icon of the Year Award. He has performed in over 40 countries, and has an MBA, a PhD in music, and an LTCL (violin) from Trinity College London. His music has been featured in Bollywood films, and he has worked as a Music Director in a Sri Lankan film. Most recently, he was honoured with the Bravo Award for Best Musician from a Partner Country, presented at the prestigious Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
