Aruna Sairam

Aruna Sairam is a Carnatic vocalist, Padma Shri awardee, and Vice Chairman of the Sangeet Natak Akademi. She has performed across India and abroad, and is on a mission to make South Indian classical music global.

She was the first South Indian classical vocalist to perform at the BBC Proms at London's Royal Albert Hall in 116 years, and she's also the first Carnatic musician to perform in the Oud Festival of Israel (Jerusalem).

In her masterclass with SaPa, students had a chance to explore the joy of Indian classical music by taking a journey through the career of the legendary singer herself. The session covered topics like concert planning, audience engagement, collaborations across genres, and more.
